Season 22 – Week 10

The final games are in the record books after an extended two-week stretch for “Week 10” in the USFFL. We had a lot of games go down to the wire with Baltimore (17) vs. Miami (20), Atlanta (31) vs. Dallas (28), Minnesota (32) vs. Los Angeles AFC (31), Tampa Bay (25) vs. Washington (28), and Los Angeles NFC (31) vs. San Francisco (34) all being settled by a field goal or less. Seattle (29) vs. Green Bay (35), Detroit (21) vs. Pittsburgh (16), Carolina (23) vs. (27), and Buffalo (35) vs. New York (28) were a TD or less apart. We are now down to a single unbeaten team as Green Bay knocked off the previously unbeaten Seattle Seahawks. Green Bay is the first team to crack into double digit wins, as they sit 10-0, 4.5 games above Chicago and Minnesota.

Here’s where the teams stand after 10 weeks.

Week 10 Broadcasts

Seattle at Green Bay

Game of the Week

Green Bay 35 Seattle 29

This game lived up to the hype given two mid-season unbeaten teams facing off. A total of four lead changes, three ties and the game wasn’t finally decided until Green Bay recovered an onside kick inside the last minute. With Seattle leading 21-14 at the half the key to the game may have been the third quarter. Seattle had three possessions in the quarter and they ended up with a punt, turnover on downs, and an interception (long pass with 0miz). Green Bay wasn’t moving the ball either until a long drive following the interception where they finally scored from the one yard line to tie things up entering the fourth. After stopping the Seahawks on downs in the following possession Green Bay hits a 36 yard LG touchdown pass to Scantling to take a 28-21 lead midway through the final quarter. Lucky roll considering the sack chance was something like 64% on the play. Packers hold the Seahawks on downs again, this time in Seattle territory and get another TD with just over 4 minutes left to seemingly put it away at 35-21. Seattle gets a late TD but as noted Green Bay is able to fall on the onside kick to clinch things. Very fun game with plenty of twists throughout. Total of 10 fourth down attempts between the two teams with only four conversions. As always very tough matching wits with Dennis and good chance these teams will meet again in the postseason. Both teams face divisional opponents next week as Green Bay visits Minnesota while Arizona travels to Seattle.

Week 11
Looking forward to several games this week, New England heads to Atlanta in a battle of Division leaders. Cincinnati vs. Las Vegas looks to be a good game in a battle of the AFC North and West leaders. Green Bay vs. Minnesota will be a tough battle in the NFC North.
