Zach Zalesne’s Buffalo held off Jon Shoemaker’s Miami 37–32 after eight lead changes; Denis Ljung’s New England survived Peter Shibley’s Pittsburgh 35–34; and Michael Emerson’s Detroit rallied from 20–6 down at halftime to defeat John Fries’s Baltimore 27–23.

Week 3 Recap

Rich Peers’ San Francisco defeated John Carter’s Arizona 37–27 as Christian McCaffrey rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Jess Geller’s Carolina beat Zack Kaplan’s Atlanta 40–19 behind Tetairoa McMillan’s eight catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. Jeff Wendlandt’s Cincinnati moved to 3–0 with a 33–30 road win over Pete Quaglierini’s Minnesota; Chase Brown ran for 131 yards and two touchdowns.

Mike Martin’s Chicago remained unbeaten with a 34–28 win over Bruce Mogg’s Dallas. Anthony Tangorra’s Los Angeles AFC routed David Kukafka’s Denver 48–10, led by Justin Herbert’s 365 passing yards and Oronde Gadsden’s 13 catches for 207 yards. Scott Mueller’s Green Bay won 15–9 at Dan Morin’s Cleveland, while Joe Golden’s Jacksonville erased a fourth-quarter deficit to beat Rudy Gobin’s Houston 30–24.

Tony Telleria’s Indianapolis improved to 3–0 with a 37–18 victory at Matt LaSalle’s Tennessee, with Jonathan Taylor rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown. Tim Ervin’s Kansas City edged Scott Kaplan’s New York NFC 14–13 after trailing 13–7 entering the fourth quarter. Scott Schumacher’s Los Angeles NFC defeated Tim Hay’s Philadelphia 42–27 behind Matthew Stafford’s three touchdown passes and Kyren Williams’ three rushing touchdowns.

Paul Conti’s Las Vegas handled David Mugmon’s Washington 33–7 as Brock Bowers posted 14 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Dennis Crowley’s Seattle beat Dan Suhr’s New Orleans 24–14, scoring the final 10 points after the game was tied in the fourth quarter. Vince Trivelpiece’s Tampa Bay topped Donnie Hastings’s New York AFC 30–19, while Michael Emerson’s Detroit completed its comeback at Baltimore.

Late-game pressure defined several other results. Chicago appeared to be in control at 31–13 with 6:18 remaining, but KaVontae Turpin’s 84-yard kickoff return set up a Dallas touchdown; Chicago recovered two onside kicks to close out the 34–28 win. New England and Pittsburgh went from a defensive opening to a fourth-quarter exchange of scores, and Pittsburgh went for a two-point conversion and the win with eight seconds remaining before the pass fell off Pat Freiermuth’s fingertips. Seattle also needed a late answer after New Orleans erased a 14-point halftime deficit: Jason Myers’ field goal broke the tie, then Sam Darnold found Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 52-yard touchdown with six minutes left.

Game of the Week: Buffalo 37, Miami 32

Buffalo and Miami traded the lead eight times before Buffalo secured a 37–32 divisional win. Miami led 14–7 after the first quarter and 20–17 at halftime, but Buffalo took a 31–26 advantage into the fourth. Miami answered with a touchdown to take a 32–31 lead, only for Dawson Knox’s 2-yard touchdown reception with 5:06 remaining to provide the final margin.

Josh Allen threw for 299 yards and four touchdowns for Buffalo, which converted 8 of 13 third downs and held the ball for 33:52. De’Von Achane was outstanding for Miami, carrying 15 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

With Week 3 complete, Cincinnati, Buffalo, Indianapolis, Kansas City, New England, Chicago, Green Bay, Los Angeles NFC, Seattle, and Tampa Bay remain undefeated as the league moves into Week 4.
