Game of the Week

Bills 28 Patriots 21

Bills take the #1 seed in the AFC with a huge win over the Pats.  The game was exactly as advertised, down to the wire. The first quarter was all Bills, coming out hot with a long pass to Gabe Davis setting up a 5 yard TD pass on the first drive of the game. The Pats got the ball back and drove most of the way down the field but a Mac Jones INT gave the ball back to the Bills halfway through the first. Josh Allen hit another long pass, converted a risky 4th and 3 around midfield, and eventually drove down for another Josh Allen passing touchdown. 14-0. The Pats responded quickly with a 5 play TD capped off by a pass TD to make the game 14-7 at the start of the second quarter. The defenses stood strong for the rest of the first half and, helped by a missed patriots field goal, there was no more scoring before halftime , the Bills punter did pin the Pats at their one yard line but they got out of trouble.

The second half started with an immediate 4 play touchdown by the Pats and just like that the game is tied 14-14. The teams exchanged a few possessions until a late third quarter interception set up Josh Allen and the Bills for a 5 play touchdown capped off by an 11 yard pass to Diggs. The Pats got the ball back but were forced into a quick three and out and it looked like the Bills had all the momentum going in to the fourth quarter. This feeling was short lived when Josh Allen threw an interception on the second play of the ensuing drive and the Pats had the ball with great field position and scored immediately to tie the game 21-21 with 13 minutes left in the game. The Bills got the ball back and put together a perfect 10 play touchdown drive capped off with another Josh Allen TD pass leaving him with 4 in the game. Both teams went 3 and out and the Pats had the ball back with 5 minutes left down 7 points. The Pats put together a beautiful drive into the red zone where they were killed by a 10 yard, loss of down intentional grounding penalty. Despite this, they had one last gasp with a 4th and goal at the 3 yard line with 50 seconds left, went for a pass and got the wrong card but it ended up being incomplete and the Bills were able to put the game away. Great game Denis and good luck in the playoffs.
