USFFL Season 24 – Week 12

Week 12 of the USFFL season delivered high-octane action, nail-biting finishes, and standout individual performances as the league’s playoff picture started to take shape. Division leaders cemented their dominance, underdogs fought valiantly, and several games came down to the final moments.

Game of the Week: Buffalo Bills Fight Off Eagles in Thriller

In a game that epitomized the highs and lows of football, the Buffalo Bills narrowly edged the Philadelphia Eagles 42-40 in a barnburner. Josh Allen put on a clinic with 359 passing yards and four touchdowns, including two to Gabe Davis. Philadelphia rallied with a 20-point fourth quarter, highlighted by a 64-yard pick-six from James Bradberry, but their comeback fell just short. D’Andre Swift’s 101 rushing yards and Jalen Hurts’ two touchdowns weren’t enough to overcome Buffalo’s early dominance.

AFC East

  • Miami Dolphins (8-3): The Dolphins sit atop the division after a solid 19-11 win over the Jets. Their three-game winning streak highlights a well-rounded team effort. Jason Sanders led the scoring with four field goals, while De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert combined for 145 rushing yards. Miami controlled possession for nearly 34 minutes, asserting their dominance on the ground and in the air.
  • Buffalo Bills (7-5): In one of the week’s most thrilling games, Buffalo edged the Eagles 42-40. Josh Allen delivered a masterful performance, throwing for 359 yards and four touchdowns. The Bills capitalized early with a 28-6 halftime lead but had to fend off a fierce Philadelphia comeback, including a pick-six from James Bradberry. James Cook showcased his dual-threat ability with 99 rushing yards and 117 receiving yards.
  • New England Patriots (7-4): The Patriots handled the struggling Giants, winning 24-10. Ezekiel Elliott was the standout performer with 121 rushing yards and a touchdown. Mac Jones efficiently passed for two touchdowns, and the defense held the Giants to just 10 points.
  • New York Jets (2-9): The Jets continue to struggle, now on a two-game losing streak. Despite a late effort against Miami, their 145-yard rushing defense couldn’t match the Dolphins’ offensive efficiency.

AFC North

  • Cleveland Browns (7-4): The Browns overwhelmed Denver 44-26, with Jerome Ford running wild for 155 yards. Deshaun Watson threw for three touchdowns, while Kareem Hunt added three rushing TDs. Cleveland’s defense also showed up, with Myles Garrett tallying three sacks.
  • Baltimore Ravens (7-5): In a gritty 27-20 win over the Chargers, Justice Hill’s two rushing touchdowns highlighted Baltimore’s ground game. Lamar Jackson contributed with a passing TD to Charlie Kolar, and the defense limited Los Angeles to 50 rushing yards.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers (4-7): Pittsburgh eked out a 23-20 victory over Cincinnati. Najee Harris led the charge with 100 rushing yards, and Jaylen Warren’s 23-yard TD run in the fourth quarter proved decisive.
  • Cincinnati Bengals (5-6): Despite Joe Burrow’s two rushing TDs, the Bengals came up short against Pittsburgh. Their 88 rushing yards paled in comparison to Pittsburgh’s 179, highlighting a key area for improvement.

AFC South

  • Jacksonville Jaguars (9-2): Jacksonville continued their dominant season with a 32-18 victory over Houston. Trevor Lawrence threw for 304 yards and two touchdowns, while Travis Etienne scored twice on the ground. The defense stifled Houston’s run game, holding them to just 60 yards.
  • Houston Texans (7-4): C.J. Stroud put up 311 passing yards and a touchdown in a losing effort against Jacksonville. Despite the loss, Stroud remains a bright spot for Houston, showing poise and leadership as a rookie.
  • Tennessee Titans (4-7): Derrick Henry’s 109 rushing yards and a TD were not enough as the Titans fell 25-17 to Carolina. Ryan Tannehill struggled against the Panthers’ defense, limiting Tennessee’s scoring opportunities.
  • Indianapolis Colts (3-8): The Colts snapped their losing streak with a decisive 31-6 victory over Tampa Bay. Gardner Minshew and Michael Pittman Jr. connected for two touchdowns, while Jonathan Taylor added 83 rushing yards.

AFC West

  • Kansas City Chiefs (7-4): Patrick Mahomes threw for 310 yards in a 24-9 win over the Raiders. Isiah Pacheco was a standout with 89 rushing yards and two TDs, as Kansas City controlled possession for over 37 minutes.
  • Los Angeles Chargers (6-5): The Chargers fell 27-20 to Baltimore despite Justin Herbert throwing for 321 yards and two touchdowns. Their defense struggled to contain Baltimore’s run game, allowing 163 rushing yards.
  • Denver Broncos (7-4): A 44-26 loss to Cleveland exposed Denver’s defensive vulnerabilities. While Russell Wilson threw three TDs, including a 71-yard bomb to Brandon Johnson, the Broncos couldn’t stop Cleveland’s relentless rushing attack.
  • Las Vegas Raiders (2-10): The Raiders suffered their fifth straight loss, falling 24-9 to Kansas City. A 56-yard reception from Hunter Renfrow was the lone bright spot in an otherwise dismal performance.

NFC East

  • Dallas Cowboys (10-1): Dallas dominated Washington 41-10. Dak Prescott passed for 361 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense held the Commanders to just 79 passing yards. Rico Dowdle contributed with two rushing touchdowns.
  • Philadelphia Eagles (3-8): Despite a valiant fourth-quarter effort against Buffalo, the Eagles lost 42-40. Jalen Hurts had a mixed day, throwing two costly interceptions, one returned for a touchdown. D’Andre Swift led the ground game with 101 rushing yards.
  • Washington Commanders (3-9): Washington’s struggles continued in the blowout loss to Dallas. Brian Robinson Jr. was a lone bright spot with 125 rushing yards and a touchdown.
  • New York Giants (2-10): The Giants remain winless at home after a 24-10 loss to New England. Tyrod Taylor managed just 79 passing yards as the Giants’ offense sputtered.

NFC North

  • Detroit Lions (8-3): Detroit extended their winning streak to seven with a dramatic 26-23 win over Green Bay. Jared Goff led a fourth-quarter comeback, and Jahmyr Gibbs provided balance with 86 rushing yards.
  • Green Bay Packers (6-5): Jordan Love’s career-best 411 passing yards weren’t enough to overcome Detroit. Green Bay’s 84 rushing yards highlighted their one-dimensional attack.
  • Chicago Bears (3-9): Justin Fields shined in a 30-28 win over Minnesota, throwing for 274 yards, running for 87 more, and accounting for three total touchdowns.
  • Minnesota Vikings (4-8): The Vikings couldn’t hold off Chicago despite Kirk Cousins throwing three touchdowns. Their defense struggled, allowing nearly 200 rushing yards.
