Season 22 – Week 8 (Mid-Year Review)

Eight weeks in the books, and we are fast approaching the USFFL midway point of the season. If one word could summarize Season 22, it would be Parity. Of the 32 teams in the USFFL, 12 teams are at .500 or one game +/-. Nineteen teams have 3, 4, or 5 wins. What I am trying to say here is that we are going to have an awesome second half of the season as most teams are well within striking distance of a wild card slot, and many teams are well within reach of the Division lead. With that being said, I’d like to congratulate a few outliers as well. Green Bay and Seattle are both undefeated, 8-0. New England and Los Angeles (Chargers), both have only one loss. Well done guys. Since we are just about at the midway turn, I put together the following table comparing the USFFL performance to the actual NFL results. The list is ranked by differential to wins, ties are not factored.

We have a special treat this week, Anthony and Tim broadcast a First Half Review. I enjoyed the insights provided and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

Week 8 Game of the Week

Wilson 2 TD passes  the XP made it 17-10 at the half.  The Jets get 2 more FGs by Pinero in the 3rd of 30 and 45 yards to enter the 4th up 23-10.   The Bengals get right to work with a long drive to start the 4th and make it 23-17 on a 12 yard run by Mixon his 2nd TD of the  day. After the Jets stall on offense the Bengals again have a nice long drive looking to take the lead but Burrows throws his 2nd pick which was a game changer.  Ashyton Davis gets his 2nd pick at the 1 yard line and takes it tom the HOUSE for a 99 yard INT Return to put the Jets up 29-17, with the 2 point conversion by Kroft the Jets are up 31-17 with 6:36 left.  But the Jets are the Jets,  The Bengals get back in the game on a Sample 4 yard reception and after the XP gets back  within 7 with 4;12 left in the game.  Both teams sputter and the game ends with a knock down by the Jets on 4th down.  Wilson takes a knee and Jets are Happy. Mixon finishes with 222 total yards  110 on the ground and 112 yards in receptions.   The Jets were only able to get 41 yards rushing total and Wilson was 25-45 for 270 yards, 2le the 4-4  Bengals will host the Browns.
